Finding a Halloween costume is beyond stressful. For me, the stress of finding a costume can turn me into a Moody Mermaid—which became my inspiration for creating this step-by-step guide on how to create a Moody Mermaid look for this Halloween, inspired by our famous Mermaid Kitten Palette.
Apply the shade Siren to the lid and create a wing that touches the hairline.
Apply the shade Seaweed to the outside corners of your lid to add definition. Add a little to the crease to create more of a dramatic smokey eye effect.
Using the shade Seaweed, contour your nose on both sides, and under the chin. Lightly dust your nose and chin with a blending brush, to eliminate any dark patches. As silly as it sounds, I wanted to create a natural moody mermaid look.
Apply our Strobing Balm in the shade Bubbles to the corners of your eyes, the tip of your nose, and the top of your lips. If you want to add some extra definition to your checks, I suggest using the shade Under The Sea from the Mermaid Kitten Palette.
If you don’t have fishnet tights to create the scales on your forehead, use our Strobing Balm, and firmly press your index finger to create undone fingerprints—it looks just as good. #makeuphacks.
Lastly, finish the look off using our Lip Velour in shade Mermaid for a moody dark lip.
Make a splash this Halloween with our Moody Mermaid Collection—we guarantee you’ll look purrfect.
