Let’s hear it for one more backyard barbecue before summer comes to an end. Labor Day is around the corner and to be honest we’ve all been laboring away at school or at work, and to be frank, its been way too long already. So let’s just party.
You’re going to need 5 major things to throw the ultimate BBQ for the laborers in your life: Grub, booze, games, F I R E W O R K S and of course, the perfect playlist.

BBQ apps can be tricky, for this you’ll want easy edibles for your guests to munch on. A red, white and blue fruit plate is the perfect way of adding some color onto your plate. Adding cheese and yogurt covered pretzels is the perfect way of adding that bit of white.
If you need a ready to go dish, individual seven layer dip cups, is the way to go. I usually go with beans, guac, sour cream, salsa, cheese, green onions and tomatoes, but it can be whatever you want – savory or sweet.
And of course snacks aren’t enough, so setting up a DIY burger bar is a fool proof idea for everyone. It’s less of a hassle for you, and your guests can pick and chose what they want. Just make sure you have an array of toppings and at least two different patties – beef or veggie – to be so extra.
Don’t forget about the dessert, it’s the most important part. With so much good grub and games to play, popsicles are a no-brainer. They’re cooling and leave everyone feeling like a kid – the ideal mood for BBQ games. For extra pizzazz make your own popsicles.

For Red, White and Brews, I’d go for something closer to home like a classic Beermosa. It’s light, refreshing and easy to chug.

With a combination of these super easy DIY games courtesy of Brit & Co: Garden Gnome Bowling, DIY Twister, Supersized Jenga, Supersize Lawn Matching and Classic Cornhole – your guests will be entertained for hours. Plus, who doesn’t like an all inclusive tournament to heat things up.
