It’s 7AM on a Wednesday morning. Your alarm is going off and you can’t stop pressing the snooze button. An hour later, you’re fully awake, realizing you’re now running late, with only 30-minutes to spare before you need to leave your apartment and head to the office.
What’s a babe meant to do?
Between perfecting your smokey cat-eye, making sure your highlighter is on point and preparing your lunch for the day, us gals can have trouble finding the time to create the perfect hairstyle.
Don’t worry, Megan is back, with a step-by-step guide on how to create the perfect braided bun in less than 10-minutes.
Tie your hair up into a high ponytail
The most appealing part of this hairstyle is that you don’t need to brush your lushes locks. Just pull all your hair back, and simply tie your hair up into a top knot ponytail. If you’re looking to create some extra volume to your braid, pinching the crown of your hair will add that extra bit of texture.
Separate your ponytail
Once you have combed back your hair, use your comb to tease the middle of your ponytail, then separate it into two sections. When teasing your hair, focus on the hair closest to the base of your ponytail—this will ensure your braids look bigger and fuller.
Braid each section
Split your hair into three sections. Then braid all three sections using the 3-strand-braid method, then secure it with a clear elastic hair tie.
Create a hole in your ponytail
Using your fingers, create a hole in the area of the hair directly above the ponytail holder. Using your thumb and index finger, reach underneath your ponytail holder, so it pokes up vertically through the hole.
Wrap your braid through the hole
Gather your braid, wrap it around the base of your ponytail until it reaches the base of your head, and secure it with a bobby pin.
Weave your braid through the hole
Lift your braid up with your free hand and weave it through with the two fingers poking through the hole. Hold onto the braid with your two fingers and pull the braid all the through.
